LIVE BROADCAST OF THE PREMIERE
FROM THE PROJEkTraum OF THE KUNSTVEREIN WAGENHALLE E.V., STUTTGART.
Welcome to your flight from “Somewhere” to “Nowhere”! The cabin crew of “Gruppe CIS” welcomes you on your journey into the depths of the cosmic unknown and the abysses of human speculation. Fasten your seatbelt and get ready to get lost: Did you know that the roar of a rocket launch is the loudest sound in the world? What do northern lights sound like? Why was a record with music and sounds from Earth launched into space in 1977? What kind of music does SpaceX founder Elon Musk listen to?
The artist collective Gruppe CIS leaves Earth in the live radio play AETHER AETHER. With timpani and trumpets, the four musicians stroll up and down the countdown and shoot themselves between the stars. Their bodies are left behind and their consciousness is downloaded into an interplanetary cloud. As wafting data nebulae, they find themselves in uncharted territory: instead of a planetary system orbiting neatly, the void bubbles like a primordial soup that constantly runs through their missing fingers. They swirl through wormholes, travel at the speed of light and never die. Gruppe CIS sparks, beeps, sings and screams against the drone of capitalist space explorers, humming and snuggling up to the chaotic power of the bubbling primordial soup. Escape from the world and body longing with punk and poetry.
