This episode’s guest is musician Daniela Weinmann. With her electro wave / indie pop project Odd Beholder she writes songs that cover alienation and escapism, emancipation and the prospect of a better world. In 2026 she will release her sixth album “Honest Work” on Sinnbus Records.
Weinmann is also co-founder of Music Declares Emergency Switzerland, a politically independent initiative of people from the music industry that advocates for climate protection in an industry-specific manner and develops answers to the climate emergency.
For the music in this episode, we exchanged ideas in advance, which followed an interest in surrealism and the leitmotif of ambivalence and hybridity, which can be interpreted in several ways – both lyrically and musically, for example in the form of pivot chords.
