Der NSU im Chemnitzer Fritz-Heckert-Gebiet –
Spuren der Gewalt und des Erinnerns.
A FEATURE BY ANNA VOSGERAU AND EVA WEBER
No conclusion – this is a central demand in the context of coming to terms with the NSU complex. The confrontation is not yet over, right-wing continuities can still be felt today and remembering the victims and survivors requires an ongoing political struggle.
One component of this political remembrance work by the Open Process, which collects initiatives and information on coming to terms with the NSU in Saxony, is a critical walk through the Fritz Heckert area in Chemnitz.
The aim of the tour is to get to know the history of the district in order to be able to critically classify it as a place of residence, networking area and crime scene of the NSU. In addition to residential areas and crime scenes, the tour is also dedicated to the biographies of the victims of the NSU complex and explores ways of coming to terms with the past and remembering.
The journalists and podcasters Anna Vosgerau and Eva Weber recorded the Critical Walk and, together with additional interviews, made a feature on the NSU complex in the Fritz Heckert area of Chemnitz, which traces the traces of violence and remembrance.
