The Schlager music scene in the GDR was much less diverse than in West Germany. Not least because there was actually only one label that released that kind music: AMIGA. The strong political and ideological restrictions did the rest and set tight limits on artistic creativity. Nevertheless, some real treasures were released on the legendary East German label, some of which this program will introduce to you.
