This episode of Island Time I’m excited to present a mix from Bushbby, bringing us a beautiful hour of selections that feel perfect for this late May weather.
Bushbby is a London based British-Colombian DJ who explores the roots and rhythms of Latin American music. They are heavily inspired by the sounds of the Caribbean and the sound systems she grew up around in both Barranquilla, Colombia and the UK’s underground.
For this special Island Time mix she takes a trip to the Caribbean Sea and visits the beaches of Colombia, Venezuela, Panama & Guadeloupe. On her stop off in Colombia she picks up a few West African records, namely from Congo and Nigeria who’s music has had a huge influence on Colombian music since the 60’s.
