TIME CAPSULE #2 with IAN DUCLOS
first 30 minutes intro of music selection by me, last 30 minutes of live improvisation collages, random stuff and original tracks from Ian.
IAN DUCLOS is a Peruvian musician, artist and producer who has developed a very interesting way of making music: he blends digital improvisation with rich generative soundscapes. His computer is a primary tool to weave together synthesis and sound manipulation.
Currently living in Porto, he’s been playing at local places like Donau, Hotelier, and Elliptica, a DIY mini-festival, where he took the listeners through a strong mental and digital sonic travel.
When he is not lost in his digital creations and leaves his room, Ian picks up his bass and joins his friends for spontaneous studio sessions.
This mix showcases the fusion of his solo explorations and collaborative rehearsals. His music view found a very sweet spot in Porto where he perfectly fitted once he arrived.
His music draws a perfect tunnel for those who listen: a sensitive and colorful tunnel of texture ambient sound, intricately layered before erupting into crazy mental beats.
But Ian’s creative flair extends beyond his own music. He is the keeper of a golden treasure chest — a curated collection of Latin American gems that he gladly shares during long listening sessions.
With his effortless DJ skills and signature shoulder shimmy, he’s the secret ingredient to every unforgettable after-party.
