Leipzig Contains…? is an experiment.
We want to find out what radio can contribute to public spaces.
The experiment starts with an office container provided by the Amt für Wohnungsbau und Stadterneuerung of the City of Leipzig.
We gradually transform the container into a public radio studio with a terrace and stage right in front.
The result is an interactive space in front of the neighborhood center Ostwache e.V. in Anger-Crottendorf.
Leipzig Contains…? #3 Ostwache Leipzig e.V. x Sesiones del Sur
For the third edition of our Summer Program 2021, we cooperated with Ostwache e.V. und and the ensemble Sesiones del Sur:
“The evening starts with sparkling conversations. In a panel talk with activists of the Recht-auf-Stadt movements Leipzig, Dresden, and Chemnitz, we discuss the issue of rising rents in Saxony. In an open discussion, we will then focus on the developments in Anger-Crottendorf.
Afterwards, Sesiones del Sur, led by multi-instrumentalist Mauricio Vivas, combines afro-peruvian rhythms with Manding-Kora-music for an unpredictable live session. Finally, the DJ duo Los Hermanndez, hailing from Maracaibo (Venezuela) and Leipzig, combines urban sounds with wild and rural rhythms.”
The entire program could be experienced live on site and via Sphere Radio’s web stream.
