space – we – space | walking through the city and the aether

Sunday, Nov 10 / 12 pm – 2 pm

with Geräuschkulisse & JD Zazie

How does a stone sound? How does architecture sound? How does my position in space affect the perception of place? And how do we find ourselves in it?
The Geräuschkulisse invites for a soundwalk through Leipzig’s post-industrial West. While the sound walkers with open ears and mics discover the acoustic qualities of the city, JD Zazie leads the radio listeners to another path through the ether.

Geräuschkulisse is a group of radio makers, curators and aficionados of sound art. Once a month, Lena Löhr, Carina Pesch and Marina Weber curate a public listening session for radio drama, radio feature and sound art. They also give workshops in the field of acoustic art and storytelling.

JD Zazie is an experimental DJ, avant-turntablist and sound artist living between Berlin and Bolzano. Coming from a DJ and a radiophonic background JD Zazie has explored over the years different approaches of real-time manipulation on fixed recorded sound. In her work, she redefines DJ and electroacoustic activities.
