João Pinho’s musical approach is a continuous experiment, deeply rooted in his fascination with sound. Before, he used „Paraíso Plástico“ as his name to play live; however, he evolved into „Ganji Manti“ around the time of his live set at Sprettro (Brescia, Italy).
His approach to music-making-process is meticulous yet fluid, carefully selecting synthesizers after immersing himself in countless hours of research about the sounds they can produce. While synthesizers are his primary language, he also combines it with fluid and organic elements, looping dreamy textures from his Nord Modular while grooving on the guitar in a fully improvisational style.
His music unfolds like a real-time collage, a process of constant layering and adjustment, until he reaches moments of discovery that often lead him to step away from the studio chair and dance to his own sonic experiments. Which is beautiful to watch 💞
This show aims to witness that process — music in motion rather than a polished end product.
(As always, every guest plays for as long as they feel like; the rest of the time, I use to introduce the show with some tracks related to what you’re about to hear next.)
