Filipe Silva is a musician from Porto who has maintained an uninterrupted artistic practice over the past two decades.
He is a member of the ensemble HHY & The Macumbas, leads the solo project HOMO, and composes music and sound designs for theatre and other artistic disciplines, also engaging in educational activities.
As HOMO, he has released nearly ten albums on Portuguese, British, and American labels, and is also part of Spore Designers, a duo in collaboration with French sound artist Orestes. He has performed at events such as Musique Action (Nancy, France), Clubbing (Casa da Música, Porto), Sonores (European Capital of Culture – Guimarães 2012), and Dar A Ouvir (Coimbra). In August 2024, he toured the United States with the support of the Shuttle program by Porto City Council.
HOMO’s work is stylistically nomadic, exploring diverse approaches — from focusing on a single sound source (such as dolphin vocalizations in RESURRECTED DELFINARIUM or acoustic guitar in LUNAR IN AZURE), to sculpting dense, oblique songs like ALTERED EGO or PEARL HARVEST AT SUN SOURCE. His compositions often weave non-linear narratives rooted in the depths of the psyche.
