In August ’24, ‘lange nicht gehört.’ is focusing on music from digital games. Videogame music, or VGM for short. Whether synthetic sounds from early arcade machines, orchestral titles or the ambient soundscapes from a distant world. The sub-theme is as diverse as music itself. Each of the weekly episodes will take a different approach to music in games. 🕹️🎶
The first episode is dedicated to the Cologne-based label Black Screen Records, founded in 2015. Not only is it the only German music label that specializes in VGM, it has also developed into a reliable distributor of VGM vinyl worldwide over the years. However, this time we’ll hear songs from the label’s own 100+ releases.
