After a long winter slumber, we are back and so happy to be bringing new content to this platform! We are kicking off with a high energy dose of contemporary dance music from the Tsonga people of South Africa. Music made to be complimented with the indigenous Xibelani dance. With bpms sitting roughly in the 160s and utilizing digital synthesizers and drum machines, Xitsonga music occupies a unique territory of speaking to tradition and rural populations while also fitting comfortably within certain aspects of Western contemporary dance music.
