Did you ever asked yourself who scatched our jingle for the Old Dirty Laundry radioshow? It was DJ D.FENZ and today we present another vinyl-mix made by him. But first something about the history: DJ D-FENZ got to know hip-hop in the early 2000s. Groups like Dynamite Deluxe, Absolute Beginners, Main Concept, the Ruhrpott AG or Eins, Zwo rotated from now on non-stop in his children’s room. He quickly decided to mix and match vinyl, recorded his first mixtapes and handed them to friends in small editions. When the “aggro wave” came along and the aggressive commercialization in German rap took part, he got more interessted in American underground and indie rap artists of the mid-90s and early 2000s. For certain rap listeners, DJ D.FENZ’s mixes may sound completely out of date. But he feels quite comfortable in his niche as a “Classic Hip-Hop DJ” in the truest sense of the word.
