“Old Dirty Laundry” is kind of a laundromat for dirty ears. The finest beats and Hip Hop records are routinely used in a spin cycle and the familiar crackling of the record leaves a comfortably warm feeling, like a fresh pair of socks.

DJ DONALD D aka DON the DISCO DUDE is our guest in today’s episode OLD DIRTY LAUNDRY. The DJ from Rostock has been active as an organizer since the end of the 80s and is also a DJ himself. While he was working in a youth club at the time, he started throwing parties himself and was an active member of the Hip-Hop scene back then. Soon names like Grandmaster Flash and Kurtis Blow were on the flyer and the local breakdance scene was performing in front of the DJ booth.
Musically, Donald is as diverse as his record collection: Hip Hop, House, Cumbia, Disco, Funk, Afrobeat… For practical reasons he mostly leaves the old records at home now, but he is still on the road all year round as a DJ. Whether at the beach bars in Zingst, Warnemünde or Kuehlungsborn or as an all-round DJ at festivals and events organised by members of the local surf scene: Donald constantly delivers.
Fun fact: When Donald started to to play more and more digitally, SPINDYRELLA bought many of his old records and gave them a second life : )
