Influenced by her love for House, Techno, Bassline and Afro-Latin beats, Yo Lee’s vibrant, melodic mixes fuse together all kinds of rhythms: Music is to celebrate! #About the Set: With this mix, I wanted to showcase a very important side of my repertoir. Hip house was my inspiration for this piece. This form of House music emerged in the mid-to-late 1980s. Early artists of the genre like The Beatmasters, Tyree, Fast Eddie among many others, would merge the early house sound of their time (including late-1980s Chicago House and Acid House) with elements borrowed from Hip Hop and with joyous, triumphant rapping. Hip house thus developed until today as an approximate fusion of both house and hip hop that combined the breakbeats, drum loops, and turntables of early hip hop production with the four-on-the-floor rhythms and soulful elements of late 1980s house.
