ABIBA started DJing in 2021 thanks to her mentorship under Femme Bass Mafia. Shifting from dancing in crowds to making crowds dance, ABIBA now has the platform to share her music in different formats, whether she’s playing twerkable bangers in her club sets or smooth alternative RnB & NeoSoul mixes as a Refuge Worldwide resident.
ABIBA’s highly energetic signature sound is shaped by electronic music and club edits that are mixed with RnB, Hip Hop and Afrobeats influences. To name a few specific genres: in her sets ABIBA travels from Baile Funk, Afrobeats & Gqom, to Jersey Club, Drill and more. In contexts outside the club, her sound varies between soul music -sometimes with a housy touch -as well as upbeat RnB and Hip Hop classics combined with the latest bops – music everybody can sing, dance and vibe to. In 2022, after showcasing her eclectic sound at HÖR, club gigs at OHM and OXI, as well as performances at Splash! and Fusion Festival, ABIBA just recently played her Boiler Room Debut- only 2 years after learning how to career.
