The guest in this episode is saxophonist and composer Ralph Heidel. Heidel studied jazz saxophone and composition at the Musikhochschule in Munich. He then combined electronic music, jazz and contemporary classical chamber music and founded the seven-piece ensemble “Homo Ludens”. The ensemble released the albums Moments of Resonance (2019, Kryptox) and Relief (2021, Kryptox). Heidel also composes for theater productions and works as a producer and arranger for other musicians.
For the music in this episode we experimented with midi effect chains, among other things, which allow our instruments to influence each other.
