We make black forest cake “Schwarzwälderkirschtorte“ and talk about sexy desserts, how to whip cream properly. On top of that: creamy affirmations, the cake as action – e.g. in the face of politicians -, fasting hedonists, face masks and the affluent society. To crown it all: cherry(schnaps). Prösterchen.
Ingredients for a black forest cake in small:
2 baking pans approx 17cm diameter
Dough:
- 200g butter, plus a little more for greasing
- 250ml hot water
- 50g cocoa
- 100g brown sugar
- 100g white sugar
- pinch of vanilla
- 225g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs (at room temperature)
Chocolate ganache:
- 50g dark chocolate
- 50ml cream
Cherry filling:
- 1 small jar of cherries 360g
- Lemon peel
- Cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 20g starch
- 1 glass of cherry brandy
Cream filling:
- 250g mascarpone
- 100g powdered sugar
- 300ml cream
Decoration:
- e.g. chocolate sprinkles, roasted almond flakes
