Sound Ecology Series #1

This episode inquires the etymology of ‘ecology’, originating from the ancient greek term ‘Oikos’. Can the practice of listening to our sourroundings figure as an essential function when it comes to modes of and for multispecies co-existence ?
It features a wonderful sound work from the Australian artist Melissa Ryke. Its titled ‘Braced unter the Heating Sun’ and it is part of her most recent project centered on sonically portraying her family home in its connectedness to the sourrounding wildlife through poetic sound documents within multi-media installations.
