For our next broadcast, we will feature a mix by an old acquaintance: Cover already amazed us last year together with Gnista by playing through the dance music history of Chicago and so we asked him to dig through his crates and take us on a similar journey through the early sound of the dance-floors in New York City. Due to a little problem with the flux compensator, he missed the golden era of disco and funk that we had in mind and landed 20 years late, playing mostly House and New York Garage of the 90ies to early 2000s. But don’t be disappointed as this is a truly happy accident. His meticulously compiled mix of the sound of the outgoing millennium in New York City and the closely connected scene in New Jersey is nothing short of amazing, just as funky and soulful as we expected and maybe exactly what we need after all this time without dancing.
