Leipzig Contains…? is an experiment.
We want to find out what radio can contribute to public spaces.
The experiment starts with an office container provided by the Amt für Wohnungsbau und Stadterneuerung of the City of Leipzig.
We gradually transform the container into a public radio studio with a terrace and stage right in front.
The result is an interactive space in front of the neighborhood center Ostwache e.V. in Anger-Crottendorf.
Summer Program 2021
Our Summer Program 2021 marked the project’s public kick-off.
Together with cultural actors from Leipzig, we organized concerts, DJ sets, and debates on current topics – live and direct at the container.
In addition, all events were broadcast worldwide via our web stream.
Participating initiatives were Jazzclub Leipzig e.V., Pracht e.V., Initiative Postmigrantisches Radio, Sesiones Del Sur, Ostwache e.V., Hitness Club e.V. und Bürgerverein Anger-Crottendorf e.V.
The Summer Program was funded by the Kulturamt of the City of Leipzig.
Many questions – one answer
Radio can play a vital role in public spaces.
The interplay of an analog infrastructure and digital streaming brings people together, bundles resources, and strengthens committed voices from civil society.
Accordingly, we keep on keeping on.
We are expanding the container, planning new events, and connecting with Leipzig initiatives.
