The Leipzig Forced Labor Memorial is dedicated to the fate of the more than 20 million forced laborers under National Socialism. In Leipzig, this amounted to about 75,000 people between 1939 and 1945, from civilian forced laborers in small bakeries to prisoners of concentration camp satellite camps working in armaments production at HASAG Leipzig.
They were spread throughout the city in more than 700 shelters.
In this podcast for the Leipzig Forced Labour Memorial we’re talking with civil society actors
about their work in Saxony or with historians about their research.
